Thomas Community Service Award for 2022. This award is presented annually to a Clear Mountain Bank team member who demonstrates a true commitment to community service, philanthropy, and volunteerism.

Hayes has been with Clear Mountain Bank since 2006 and currently serves as the bank’s Vice President and Director of Mortgage Origination. A native of Kingwood and life-long resident of Preston County, Hayes is well-known for his dedicated service to the Kingwood VFD and the Preston County Buckwheat Festival. In 2022, he held the position of Assistant General Chairman for the festival and has assumed the role of General Chairman in 2023. Beyond helping with the Buckwheat Festival, Hayes also serves on the finance committee of the VFD, of which he is a member.

Additionally, Hayes is active with the United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties and served as 2020 campaign chairperson as part of the “Bankers United” group. He is a former member of the Kingwood Lions Club and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Preston County Economic Development Authority and the Mon Valley Habitat for Humanity. Furthermore, he coaches youth basketball for the West Preston Youth Basketball League.

Thomas Community Service Award,” said David Thomas, president and CEO of Clear Mountain Bank. "Throughout his career, Harry has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to our local community and has volunteered countless hours serving many organizations. We received multiple nominations for Harry, and a common theme among them was that he has provided a tremendous amount of service to many organizations over the years without seeking fanfare or recognition for his efforts,” Thomas added.

Pictured left to right are Chase Thomas, Harry Hayes and David Thomas of Clear Mountain Bank, presenting the $1,000 donation to Brandi Helms, CEO of United Way of Mon & Preston Counties.As part of this award, the bank provides a $500 monetary gift to the winner and a $500 donation to a charitable organization of the winner’s choosing. Hayes selected the United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties as his charitable organization and the bank has donated the entire $1,000 to the organization.

The Brian F. Thomas Community Service Award was founded in honor of Clear Mountain Bank’s former president and CEO, the late Brian F. Thomas. The award is designed to recognize the bank team member who best exemplifies Brian’s vision for and commitment to community service and philanthropy. Nominated by colleagues, the recipient must demonstrate a selfless devotion to community service and volunteerism by serving their community and local organizations over their lifetime. Hayes is the fifth recipient of the award since its inception in 2018.
