Bo Burnside, mortgage loan specialist at Clear Mountain Bank, has been named to the sixth annual ICBA 40 Under 40: Emerging Community Bank Leaders list for 2024.

The national award recognizes community bank innovators, contributors, and influencers who continue to step up, stand out, and power local communities through community banking excellence. Chosen from hundreds of entries, candidates are judged on character, leadership, community involvement, and innovation and were grouped in the following categories: hi-tech heroes, enthusiastic collaborators, thoughtful educators, community supporters, innovative strategists, and trusted advisors.

"We are very proud of Bo for being named to this list of outstanding community bankers,” states David M. Thomas, president and CEO of Clear Mountain Bank. "Bo exemplifies a strong and collaborative work ethic, providing exceptional customer service and a genuine commitment to his community,” Thomas added.

Burnside is featured in the cover story of the June 2024 issue of Independent Banker magazine under the Enthusiastic Collaborators category, which recognizes community bankers that are the first to raise or lend a hand. His profile can be found within the full magazine article online.

His magazine profile emphasizes that he “keeps the community top of mind, spearheading the creation of community engagement events, business development workshops, and targeted outreach programs. He motivates his team with his transparent and honest leadership, and he believes strong client relationships are the bank’s foundation for success.”

Burnside has been with Clear Mountain Bank since 2012. A native of Kingwood, he is a graduate of West Virginia University with a bachelor’s degree in finance. He serves his community in many capacities through volunteerism and leadership, currently serving as board president of the Preston County Chamber of Commerce since 2022 and a member for six years. Additionally, he also serves on the board of directors and is treasurer of Trout for Cheat and the Muddy Creek Recreational Club.

Burnside (NMLS #1062315) can be reached at Clear Mountain Bank’s Kingwood office at 330 East Main Street, Kingwood, WV or by phone at 304.329.7404 or email bburnside@clearmountain.bank.
