Clear Mountain Bank announces that Jeff Jenkins has been chosen as the recipient of the bank’s Brian F. Thomas Community Service Award for 2020. This award is presented annually to a Clear Mountain Bank employee who demonstrates a selfless devotion to philanthropy, community service, and volunteerism.
Jenkins has more than 43 years of experience at Clear Mountain Bank, where he currently serves as the BSA/compliance officer and is a Certified BSA/AML Professional (CBAP). During his career with the bank, he has been active with numerous community organizations.
Outside of work, Jenkins devotes countless volunteer hours to the Preston County 4-H program, currently serving as the organizational leader of the Lenox Loyal Workers 4-H club since 2002; the past president and now treasurer of the Preston County 4-H Leaders Association; the treasurer of the Preston County 4-H Foundation; and vice-president of the Preston County 4-H Camp Board. Jenkins is also on the camp staff for Preston County 4-H camps and volunteers during the WV State 4-H Teen Leader Weekend at Jackson’s Mill.
Jenkins’ service to the community goes beyond the 4-H program. He is former president and treasurer of the Albright Volunteer Fire Department and is currently an associate member, helping with various fundraisers. He is also the former president of the Kingwood Lions Club and now serves on the club’s nominating committee. In addition, he serves as the treasurer of the Centenary United Methodist Church, and calls bingo for the Kingwood Lions Club and Kingwood Volunteer Fire Departments. He is the chairman of Ag Olympics at the Preston County Buckwheat Festival and has served as a judge for the Terra Alta/East Preston School science/social studies fair. Jenkins has lived in Preston County his entire life, growing up near Lenox, WV (Woolen Mill community) and currently resides in Kingwood.
The Brian F. Thomas Community Service Award was founded in honor of Clear Mountain Bank’s former president and CEO, the late Brian F. Thomas. The award is designed to recognize the bank employee who best exemplifies Brian’s vision for and commitment to community service and philanthropy. Nominated by work colleagues or self, the recipient must demonstrate a selfless devotion to community service and volunteerism serving his/her community and local organizations over his/her lifetime.

Jenkins has received a $500 monetary gift from the bank in recognition of his efforts. Additionally, the bank has made a $500 donation to his chosen charitable organization, Food for Preston, which works to eliminate substandard housing and provide safe, affordable homes in Preston, Monongalia and Marion counties.

Food for Preston has been helping the hungry in Preston County, WV since 1985. They work to secure food, funding, and volunteers for 11 food pantries, backpack program, and school stores program.
